DHU Healthcare is looking for a driven and dynamic Practice Manager to join our Primary Care team at Buxton Medical Practice, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping service delivery and supporting exceptional patient care.

Hours: 23.5 hours
Salary: £38,383- £46,221 (Band 6.0 - Band 6.3) depending on experience

What Your Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the practice to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe service delivery

  • Leading a team of administrative staff, fostering a positive culture and high levels of performance

  • Ensuring compliance with NHS regulations, CQC standards, GDPR, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements

  • Managing finances, budgets, and NHS claims, including QOF and Enhanced Services

  • Working closely with DHU’s leadership and PCN partners to deliver innovative care models

  • Supporting digital transformation and continuous quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintaining robust governance systems and patient engagement through PPGs and feedback channels

  • Coordinating training, appraisals, and HR processes in collaboration with internal teams

To Be a Successful Practice Manager, You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Significant experience in a senior management role within a GP surgery or healthcare setting

  • Deep understanding of NHS structures, QOF, PCNs, and contractual requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in clinical systems, Microsoft Office, and practice management software

  • Experience managing CQC inspections and quality improvement plans

  • Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure

Desirable:

  • Leadership or management qualifications (e.g., AMSPAR, ILM)

  • Knowledge of ARRS roles, IIF, and other national initiatives
